Seventh Annual Chesapeake Writers’ Conference at St. Mary’s College of Maryland

The seventh annual Chesapeake Writers’ Conference at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is June 24-30, 2018. Each year, the Conference hosts writers at all levels of experience for a rich week of lectures, craft talks, readings, and panel discussions (including an entire day with publishing professionals), as well as daily workshops in the genre each participant has applied in–fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction.

A seminar for teachers of English and language arts will again be offered, which carries with it two graduate credits for Continuing Professional Development., as well as the now-popular Youth Workshop for high schoolers.

Returning faculty include:

Liz Arnold (poetry)

Angela Pelster (CNF)

Matt Burgess (fiction)

Matt Burgess (fiction)

Matthew Henry Hall (youth workshop)

And for the publishing panel, the organizers are pleased that literary agent Jessica Papin from Dystel, Goderich & Bourret will join the conference, as will Caroline Casey, Managing Director at Coffee House Press, and Gregory Donovan, Senior Editor for Blackbird: an online journal of literature and the arts.
